RSIC Survey
RSIC Survey™ turns any BlackBerry® smartphone into an efficient
data collection device, whether it is for gathering statistical data, taking
surveys, performing market research or whatever other purpose. All of this on
self-designed digital forms. The application includes a powerful GeoTagging
feature, allowing users to link collected data to a geographical location, using
either the built-in or an external GPS antenna. In addition RSIC Survey offers
users the possibility to add a pictures to their self-designed forms, either
using the built-in camera of the device or selecting the picture manually from a
data card. All these features combined, makes RSIC Survey an extremely versatile
and easy to use application, that can be used for an enormous array of different
purposes.
Remote Configuration Possibilities
For usage with larger user
groups, RSIC Survey offers the possibility to configure the application by
either using custom BES policies or using the web-based Remote Policy
Configurator tool. These options allow administrators to fully control the
application settings and behavior on individual devices, which is essential for
efficient usage in large user populations.
Templates
RSIC Survey users can create their own templates, either
directly on their BlackBerry smartphone or using the web-based Online Template
Creator at http://survey.rsic.mobi. Users
can add their own fields to the chosen template type and specify default values,
hot-keys and other specific settings. Added fields can vary from checkboxes to
drop-down lists, free text fields, numeric input fields, photo fields, GPS
coordinate fields and many more. Templates can be of the following different
types:
Photo Template – this type allows the user to add photograph-fields to
their template, in addition to any number of other self-chosen fields.
Survey Template – these templates allow the user to add any number of
self-chosen fields that are automatically numbered on the screen and in the
reports.
Form Template – these templates too allow the user to add any number
of self-chosen fields, but in stead of numbers, the reports contain the field
labels as column names.
Counting Template – these are a special type of template that allow
users to define different categories with associated hotkeys, for the creation
of efficient counting applications, ideal for statistical purposes.
Reporting and data processing
Every version of RSIC Survey supports
E-mail based reporting, which enables users to send their collected data to one
or more E-mail addresses, with the registered data attached to the E-mail in MS
Excel, CSV (semicolon separated), XML and PDF formats. Any photographs are also
attached to such E-mails. Reporting can either be done automatically or
manually.
Reports in other formats, such as HTML, Word or proprietary
formats, can be made available and can be requested by contacting the RSIC sales
team via the contact form on this website. Survey can be linked to any back-end
database system for data storage and processing purposes, using proprietary and
secure low-cost server software, allowing for integration with Accounting, ERP,
ECM or other systems.
Alternative Versions
Starting with version 3.0, RSIC Survey is also
available in a number of alternative versions, with specific custom
functionality. These versions are:
RSIC Survey eID Edition – This is the version of RSIC Survey with
Belgian eID support, allowing for the inclusion of eID fields on templates, that
are read from a Belgian eID card. This powerful functionality makes it easy for
any Belgian organization to create digital forms that extract all relevant
client or citizen data from their eID own cards. RSIC Survey eID Edition works
with the RIM Smartcard
Reader, which is the industry standard smartcard solution for BlackBerry
devices.
RSIC Survey eID Edition+ – This version of RSIC Survey is the same as
the regular eID Edition, with the addition of Belgian eID based digital signing
functionality. This version of Survey allows datasets to be signed with both the
authentication as well as the digital signing signatures that are part of the
Belgian eID.
RSIC Survey Professional – This is the hosted variant of RSIC Survey
that offers a complete and integrated mobile forms solution: from the deployment
of mobile forms to groups of users, to the consolidation of collected data, to
the processing and consequent dynamic reporting on the collected data.
Please see the 'Information' section above for more information about these
